Nearly all of my photo equipment was purchased from B&H out of NYC . . . so now I know what kind of a ride they had. Probably not a good idea for me to ever visit this store . . . not sure I could walk out without dropping a grand.

I just updated my Photomatix Pro software to the latest version and decided to try out a few of my photos from Colorado. These were taken late 2010 while I was hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Have to say I like the update and how easy it is to create High Dynamic Range photos. This style of editing photos is not well liked by everyone, but I think it has its place. The software gives you full control of detail and saturation and it’s fun to push the color to the limit sometimes!

I ran across a few photos as I was cleaning my hard drive at work that I thought were worth sharing.  You may know that there is a commercial photo studio at my office, and occasionally they trick me into “modeling” when the need arises.  9 times out of 10 they need my hands to demonstrate a product.  I’m not sure if that’s a compliment?!  So next time you see me and want to shake my hand or give me a high five, please, be gentle.  And let’s keep the “lunch lady” comments to a minimum, k?
